Learning Skills & Meeting "Jesus"

Last Friday was an exceptional day. Alex and I went to the drop in center to start teaching kids how to improve or learn for the first time their carpentry skills. Upon arrival not a soul was there. But about 30 minutes went by, and then 2 street kids showed up and answered the invitation to come and learn and hang out with us from last week.

Right off the bat Alex presented the gospel, I helped a little, but it was Alex's testimony about his drug and prison days that really got to them. So before we picked up the first jig saw both of them accepted Christ! Their names are Jesus and Javier.

Javier and his wife who live on the streets are expecting their first child in about 6 weeks. Pray for safety and shelter needed to raise this little baby. Jesus was deported from the U.S. about 6 years ago for grand theft auto, driving while drunk, and stealing a green card (a federal offense). His heart is hardened by the streets and his deportation. Nearly all his family live in the states. Please pray as we continue to meet with him daily that the word will sink in and the skills that both of them learn will give them the economic will and capacity to keep them off the streets.
